My favorite Japanese Movie-Ten Years to Live

What would you do if you had ten years to live? I don’t think I could understand it. The main character in this story is Matsuri. Matsuri gets an incurable disease at the age of twenty and she was told by a doctor that she had ten years to live. She only thought about living, so she stopped falling in love. However, she met a classmate Kazuto at a school reunion. She gets along well with him. What will happen to them?

The movie Ten Years to Live was written by Luka Kosaka in 2007. And on March 4, 2022, it was made into a movie by director Michihito Fujii. This movie is a romantic movie. Michihito Fujii won the Academy Award for Excellence at the age of 33. Another movies by Fujii are Yakuza and Family.

The main cast member of Ten Years to Live. Matsuri is played by Nana Komatsu. She has had many romantic movies in the past. She acted so well. I thought she was perfect for this role. The second main cast Kazuto played by Sakaguchi Kentarou. He is a classmate of Matsuri. Sakagochi Kentarou has never started in a romantic movie. I saw a side I had never seen before. It was very good. There are many other cast members, Takeru played by Yuuki Yamada, Nao played by Sanae Fujisaki.

The audience for this movie is a person who likes emotional stories. And I thought that by looking at this, we can think about how we will live in the future. If you put yourself in the main character’s possible you can think about how to live.

I will introduce the theme song of the movie. This movie song is “Uruubito” by the Radwimps. The Radwimps have theme songs in many movies. For example, What is your name? and A Child of the Weather. I’m more moved by the theme song. I have two reasons. First, I can understand the meaning of the song well when I listen to it. Second, I can recall a scene from the movie when I hear it. So I think the theme song of the movie is very important.

  1. Let's try to make the title of the post more understandable. Usually we use italics for titles, but we can't this time because the Blogger formatting is fixed for post titles. In this case, let's add Movie Review of and put quotation marks around Ten Years to Live. The post title will look like: Movie Review of "Ten Years to Live". Also, you have an 's' after Live; please delete it. Then in the paragraphs, please use italics whenever you see the title Ten Years to Live. - Kevin
